Our Profile

Established in 1986, Woods Glass (NZ) Ltd is now the recognised market leader in the architectural glass supply and contract glazing field. Our company objective since inception was to establish a specialist contract glazing company committed to providing a quality service for the New Zealand Building Industry. We continue to reinvest heavily in our field of expertise to maintain this.

Today we have a proven track record having completed some of the largest commercial glazing contracts in New Zealand. These include the acclaimed Britomart Glasshouse and CPO redevelopment and the PriceWaterhouseCoopers Tower on Auckland's waterfront, the National Bank Twin Towers in Auckland's CBD, the Harrah's Casino in Auckland, the Auckland International Airport extensions and the Museum of New Zealand and Lambton Tower in Wellington. Export work completed includes NZ Expo Pavilion in Seville, Spain, the Marshall Island Parliament Buildings and the NZ Embassy building in Samoa.

Matthew Harris, General Manager: Matthew has been in the glass and aluminium industry since 1985. He is responsible for the project management and performance of contracts, contractual requirements, staffing levels, quality standards, technical inquiries and in-house design work.

Bee Choo Lim (ANZIQS), Technical Sales Manager: Bee Choo has been a quantity surveyor for 24 years, incorporating 15 years in the glass industry. She is responsible for all pricing/costing, technical and sales enquiries.

Toby Gribble, Contracts Manager: Toby has been in the glass industry for 19 years and is a Tradesman Glazier, incorporating 8 years as Projects Manager before assuming his current position. He is responsible for contract/project management in the wider Auckland region.

Paul Jones, Project Supervisor: Paul obtained his qualifications as a trade certified glazier in 1995 and brings with him 16 years practical glazing experience. His responsibilities include project supervision and the management of glazing crews on selected sites.

Kenneth Chiu, Factory Glazing Manager: Kenneth joined us early 2008 and brings with him a Diploma in Building, Technology and Management obtained at Hong Kong Polytechnic in 1993. He is currently studying part time for a Bachelor of Construction degree and is responsible for the management and success of our factory glazing operations. Ah Sim Khor, Quantity Surveyor: Sim has recently joined us from overseas having obtained her BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying in 1999 from the Robert Gordon University in the UK and brings with her considerable experience in estimating, tendering and post contract administration.

Rose Eltringham, Contracts Administrator: Rose has been in the aluminium and glass industry for 19 years. She is responsible for all post contract services and in-house co-ordination required to support our on site teams.

We currently employ a glazing crew of 25. Woods Glass, from the company's conception, was committed to employing permanent staff in preference to subcontracting out the work. This ensures more control over the team's efforts, skills and quality, given the contractual obligations the company undertakes. Our success justifies this decision.

The Future

As the company moves into the future we are committed to continually updating our skills and in-house technology to enable us to provide our customers with the quality and service it requires. To substantiate this commitment, we are currently seeking Telarc Q-base Quality Assurance registration.
