Glass is a traditional building material with outstanding durability and it plays a crucial part in creating the visual appearance of many commercial and retail buildings. Understanding glass, its relationship to light, transparency, reflection, insulation, solar gain control and what these qualities can achieve in a building in terms of the built aesthetic, the impact on indoor environment quality and resultant productivity are important considerations when designing buildings and specifying the glass component.
