EnduraLam | Laminate Glass

EnduraLam is a Grade A Safety Glass. It provides increased safety because it holds together if broken, reducing the likelihood of serious injury, whether in a vertical or overhead position. It can also offer increased security as the glass will generally remain in the frame after fracture.

Laminated glass consists of two or more layers of glass, factory bonded together with a plastic interlayer.

EnduraLam can also assist in a reduction in noise transfer through the glass and lowered UV transmission. Laminated glass can be incorporated with other glass types in an IGU to provide a further increase in thermal performance.

EnduraLam has some size limitations depending on the process but Woods Glass has access to some of the largest lamination manufacturing sizes available.

Tinted Laminate has many benefits including improved solar control, reduced glare from the sun, improved privacy and originality in architectural design.

Laminated glass can incorporate layers of toughened glass and Heat Strengthened glass for additional strength and safety.

PERFORMANCE/SPECIFYING

EnduraLam is a laminated glass product and has the options of being toughened, heat strengthened and heat soaked. The Interlayer must be chosen depending on the functionality required and then the tint and any additional properties must be decided upon. EnduraLam can be used in combination with other Woods Glass products like ceramic frit (Keramo) and low-e glass (Infinit E). All glass must be engineered to specific code and design, please contact Woods Glass to find out more information.

CLEANING/MAINTENANCE

Normally when cleaning glass, a vinegar-based glass cleaner or mild dish soap and water with a soft, lint-free cloth or paper products is recommended. A squeegee or soft cloth may be carefully used to dry the glass and help avoid water spots.

It is not recommended to use petroleum-based cleaners or solvents as they can streak the glass and weaken the seal between the glass and frame. Avoid washing in direct sunlight to reduce streaking on the glass.

Never use razor blades, steel wool, putty knives or abrasive pads as they may damage the glass, particularly on toughened glass.

RANGE

Many different thicknesses and sizes are available for UltraVis. Woods are able to supply many more colours so please contact us to discuss special requirements.

SPECIFICATION

We recommend using Masterspec 4611WG Woods Glass Exterior Glazing when specifying this system.
